Welcome Ian and might I offer you 100% encouragement for your intended project, I have been a member of the TCOC for 16 years and while my first preference inTriumphs was a Stag I ended up with a TR6 which I bought in 2008 as a rolling restoration and thankfully it is still rolling, I really enjoy getting out in it however I am selective as to where I go as it is quite thirsty (17 - 19 mpg)
I hope to meet you at some event soon and again best of luck with the project
