Turlough Hill

Turlough Hill power station is 50 years in operation this year.

I have spoken with relevant personnel and a tour is to be scheduled for the TCOC. I'm awaiting precise details on date and numbers permitted. Members interested need to put names on list and as usual it's on a first come first served basis

I hope to have the missing details within the next week

Thanks

Pat

    • Pat, I will have breakfast with Luke in Hollywood which is easier for me than the Chester Beatty. Hopefully thats OK and opens up a slot for someone else. Let me know if it is an inconvenience.

My eldest daughter may be home from abroad that week and I mentioned the Tourlough Tour trip to her and if she is home asked me if she could go along as it construction was one of her Papa's big professional achievements as an Engineer

Is there any places left ??

I'll have Spitty8 all set to head up from the Naas side and meet up with anyone heading from our direction Hollywood Inn on way over

    Thanks Alan

    • I'll let you know for sure closer to event Alan but should be okay

  • Thanks lads

Routing and breakfast is up to individual preferences. Will make perfect sense for some members to go directly. However don't present yourselves until I arrive with the main body of other members.

  • Great Pat.

Might have brekkie in Hollywood on the way.

  • Brilliant, not to be missed. Thanks Pat for organising it, might push the boat out and have the breakfast and all on this one.smile

  • UPDATE 18th April

I have confirmed the date of July 11th for our private tour of this engineering design marvel for 31 members as listed.
I have also booked Chester Beatty's private conservatory for breakfast from 8am. We need to be back on the road from 10am. This area can accommodate 20 people so some will have to sit in the adjacent area but this should not pose any problem for us. There will be 3 option for breakfast as before - full Irish, mini Irish or just coffee/ tea. The conservatory is for those having cooked breakfasts. Members may choose to forego breakfast and/or Ashford Chester Beattys and head straight for Turlough Hill. However we need to be on site and parked up for tour commencement at 11.am.

    Thanks

    Pat

  • Ken are you sure your name is Nolan and not Lannigan??

    • Cheeky

  • Pat, my other two are back in if possible. Apologies for any inconvenience.
    Ken
