Turlough Hill

Turlough Hill power station is 50 years in operation this year.

I have spoken with relevant personnel and a tour is to be scheduled for the TCOC. I'm awaiting precise details on date and numbers permitted. Members interested need to put names on list and as usual it's on a first come first served basis

I hope to have the missing details within the next week

    Seems my Photos I uploaded earlier have vanished maybe they went back to Turlough,I'll TRy again later.

    Pat,

    Thank you so much for organising this trip.

    Brought back so many 8 year old memories and to see it still being as relevant and possibly more relevant 50 years later made me appreciate all the more my Dad's achievement as the Siemens Main Contractor / Lead on the job.

    Was talking to my 87 year old Mum and told her about the legacy earlier and she got quite emotional.

    Great visit, these outings with a bit of an interesting twist of some kind are really good. Well done Pat Stevenson, great outing.

      Inchicore Works event on Aug 8 not to be missed. We are privileged to be afforded the opportunity to visit this amazing part of our Transport history. May never ever get this opportunity again.

    Have to say I'm a little disappointed with the take up  of the Chester Beatty's option. Was expecting those members close to M50/ N11 to join in Ashford. Perfectly understand Luke's option for members living in that vicinity. I had made arrangements with Chester's for the conservatory and they are opening early to suit us. I will advise the venue of our change of plans and smaller numbers. They have been very accommodating in the past. I look forward to meeting the reduced numbers in Chester's as arranged on Thursday. Lesson learned for any future event I might organise!!
