I was drilling a hole in the wall today putting up a trellis, and it occured to me that the Bosch drill I was using was won in a raffle by my Mother in 1978. This makes it 42 years old. It still wqorks fine, despite years of horrific abuse, including lying under a hole in the garage roof for months back in the 80s. I the began an thinking of my oldest tools; (yes lockdown is getting to me)
Black and Decker Grinder; 25 years old, MIG welder 20 years. Both still working and believe me the grinder has had a hard life. I have hand tools dating to the 1920s that my Grandfather owned as well as the tools inherited from my father.
Can anybody beat that? What is your oldest tool?
Note to Tommee: Your penis does not count.
