As a result of the total lockdown of the country since March 12th we have missed out on a good chunk of activities involving club events which I have documented in the 'Blue Book' (I happened to have the book since 'Sausagefest') I have marked my calander with the important dates for the different phases of restrictions, and the recent amendment to Phase 2 Plus allows for:
1, Unlimited travel within county boundaries and
2. a group of up to 15 people for outdoor sport
with this in mind I have looked at a few options for Dublin members (apologies to all members not resident in Dublin) and I have named these 'Dublin Drives North, South, and West'
DRIVE 1 SOUTH (38 Km 1hr 6 min) and DRIVE 2 SOUTH (18.8 kM 30 MIN) are Southside routes, both start at Whelehans Carpark ( previously Silver Tassie Pub) and end up in Sandycove (Teddy's Ice Cream shop)
DRIVE 3 NORTH (40.6 Km 51 min) and DRIVE 4 NORTH (58.2 Km 1hr 17 min) are Northside and start at Airport (Dogger's) Carpark and end up in Ardgillen Castle (D3) or Pipers Portrane (D4)
DRIVE 5 WEST (34.4 Km 57 min) is Westside and starts at the Deadman's Inn and ends at Farmleigh or Visitors Centre Phoenix Park
it is hoped that all destinations named are open and up and running
These are suggested events for the duration of this travel limitation, hopefully only 3 weeks as it is hoped by government is to bring forward the opening of unlimited travel at the end of June Monday 29th, either way I will contact the Deadmans re: Monthly meeting for Sunday 28th June - unfortunately non-Dublin members are limited to the 20 Km from your home restriction
