Peamount hospital new cafe launch

Hi All,

I recently contacted peamount hospital and pitched the idea of the club visiting there with a few cars to provide some entertainment for residents, patients, and staff. Their events/fundraising officer, Kate Breslin, contacted me this morning with an update on this.

A new Avoca cafe has been set up on the grounds and peamount are working on an official launch of it on Tuesday the 19th december 11am to 1pm. Kate asked about the possibility of having about 10 Tcoc cars on display outside the cafe to add some dazzle to the event. I know it is a tuesday, but it would be brilliant if we could muster 10 cars for the occasion. Nice way to finish off the year giving back to a valued service in our community! Doing what we always do! And very well!!.

Stick your name below if you are interested in attending. I'll start the list! I'm in!

Regards,

Paddy.

  • Great turn out this morning! Thanks everyone for the support. An awkward time of year for these things but nonetheless we made it work..as always. Very enjoyable morning. Peamount were delighted with our attendance and the residents were talking about the cars for the rest of the day.

They have a summer party on the grounds every year and it may be something we could contribute to by way of a proper stand set up. I'll find out the date it's on and if they would be interested in our involvement. We can decide from there if we are in a position to do something.

    regards,

    Paddy.

  • Quite a turn out of Club members, wives, friends this morning, braving the sudden coldness and traffic to help in our small way the opening of a new coffee shop in Peamount Wellness Centre. This is open to the public also, could be a nice venue for a Club run. There is a calm and restful atmosphere here, far from the maddening crowds and was a nice disTRaction to meet, chat and sup coffee with fellow like minded friends. It's a thin line between being well and otherwise, and one thing was apparent to myself after the main event was just how members do lookout for each other as we chatted. As our great Club member Tommy Dunne was wont to say

there were plenty of Sunday coats, guna nua s, few speeches, even a Mayor with nice chain of office, who took a great interest in FZX800.
