Monthly meeting- Sunday 29th May

Good meeting today starting with Breakfast - those who travelled furthest were first there,Roy ((Donegal), Karen, Simon, and Pat (Wexford) and Dave (Kildare) Niall (Straffan), it was good to see people like Martin (McGovern) recupering well post surgery and Sean Connaughton well pleased with his TR4 after some expert fettling by Simon, Gerry Leigh arrived on his Honda 175 (great story behing that !) and Gerry Cleary on his Triumph 1200 I think - check it out on the Photo section of the website, Al Quinn was there in the Spitfire, and Ted Courtney arrived in his Spitfire both going well, Roger in his Grinnall (I think) and Derek (Keogh) in the Jag - poor James was upstaged for this TRip the honour was bestowed on his younger sister - but then again a lady always adds class to a jag (sorry James). Leslie Kennedy informed me that the only decent cars in the car park were his SL 500 and Derek's Jag - well who could argue with that !! Also in attendance were Trish and Chris also in the Spitfire so it was neck and neck as to how many 6's v Spitfire's if only Alan (Green Spitfire - infinity) hadn't sent apology the spits would have won. Tony Keogh and Kevin Dwyer also were present and I decided to team up with Kevin for the journey home but as many of you know trying to keep up with car in front in city/town traffic doesn't always work out.

Arrived home about 12:30 looking at the weather - perfect for a run but Sunday afternoon - naw, decided to drain all oils since they were nicely warmed up then went in and had lunch - sump and gearbox left to drain overnight - will get back to it tomorrow or whenever !!!
