Monthly Meeting 24th April

Went to meeting in the 6 - top down, yehaay that type of weather is with us again, had a nice 'full irish' in the company of the ever convivial Dave Stevenson, very good turnout for the meeting and business conducted in an efficient manner also welcomed the two Alans as new members - Alan from Lucan arrived in his 19?? Austin 7 and at the meeting put a call out for a technical / working event to help sort out his spitfire, Alan from Carlow direction had a well sorted 'conifer' green spitfire and is chomping at the bit to get involved with what the TCOC do best - driving their cars. Derek and Ang were heading to Kilbeggan (see flier below) and while I would have liked to go I didn't relish the hour and a half drive home on a Sunday evening but not wanting to go straight home thru town I decided to take a circuitous route through Meath and North County Dublin and as fate would have it I came across a 'convoy' of TR's on the road at the back of the Coachman's Inn - thinking they were TR Register Ireland cars but on seeing the KBX and CUC etc registrations I realised they were 'visitors' so I did a u-turn when convenient and followed them eventually caught up with them when they got lost in Swords so here are a few pickie wickies

So I was right in one respect - it was a TR Register event but nothing to do with TRR Ireland - it kinda made my day after the disappointment of not going to Kilbeggan and it goes to show a good result after a good TCOC meeting.

  Myself and Angela had a lovely spin to Kilbeggan followed by Dave also in a 7V8. Both cars behaved very well and cruised along nicely with the modern traffic. (We passed most of them 😀) Show was excellent huge selection of Yank Tanks . Bought the mandatory model cars and caught up with some pals in the American car club. Eventually found my grandson Leon who was more than happy to jump into my buddies Corvette.

suggestion for after meeting run on Sunday. Weather looks good so far. I will probably go if anyone else is interested in going.
