It's sad to see this issue causing such trouble. I had to go early due to family commitments, but to be honest, I was not prepared to listen to any more arguments about the magazine. As far as I can see, most of the membership present were happy to continue with a printed copy for the time being. Maybe I am wrong. I think the club is imploding. Even the committee seem divided. I have been a member of the club for 27 years, and have never seen such bitter division. As for the cost of the magazine, Pat has been getting it for an absolute bargain price. Furthermore, with static shows seeming to be on the way out, will there be a need for bunting and tents in the future? We should be enjoying driving our cars while we stilll can, not squabbling over petty crap.
There is serious talk of rationing petrol usage in the future, for Green reasons as well as fuel security. We may all end up polishing our cars in the driveway rather than drive them, so why not enjoy them while we can?
I am wondering, like Derek, as to whether I will remain involved in the club in the future if this is not put to bed.
I was saddened to witness the behaviour of some members today at the meeting. From open personal criticism to down right bad manners . Also the Herald . Its 70 percent full of content from Brendan Walls who is no longer a member of our club. He made a big exit rather than deal with issues that he had with the club . His articles include smart Alec comments about other members of the club. There is lots of stuff and smart arse comments I could make about the above ex member but I personally think it would be unfair. I accept that this issue of the Herald was drawn up before the above member decided to announce his exit and I am sure he will be informed of my post as soon as I post it . But he is gone now and I wish him all the best. and I for one have no interest in reading any contribution he makes to the Herald as he chose to be no longer a member of our club.
I have given a lot of thought following on from the meeting today and at one stage I was going to leave the club . (With no big fanfare or big announcement). But then I thought fcuk it . Why should I. The majority of members are like me . We love cars Triumph cars and most love to drive and use our Triumph cars. Some members like to talk about them others have them and don't use them for lots of reasons, price of fuel fear of damage, undergoing restoration etc ,
I really hope we can move on from today it was a sad day for me to see so much confrontation and bad feeling . Its a club lads and ladles the committee volunteer and are doing their best.
Let's make it a great club again and TRy to put our differences behind us. It is a car club.

Sad day indeed Derek,
Very Sad to see that bickering and discontent still goes on, The damage being done to long term friendships camaraderie and all from people who share the same common interest, it's absolutely crazy, This needs to stop now or there will be nothing left.
Maybe if everyone settles down and we can all get back to enjoying the club that we joined and bridge the divide that should have never been allowed to happen,
The club over the past few months has been far from enjoyable and we have all witnessed some shameful behaviour,
It would most definitely make you question your membership moving forward. Such a shame to let such a fantastic club go this way.
Lets sort it out !!

Yes Derek some nasty moments and not nice to witness,I feel the Club will never recover from this but hopefully I can be proved wrong it's up to every Member to put aside their differences with other Members and let's get back to enjoying each other's company and enjoying ourselves and our Cars.
