Lucan House.

We have been invited to visit Lucan House and grounds on Saturday 22nd of April.  This is a magnificent period residence with lots of interesting history.  It is the residence of the Italian Ambassador.  We are limited to 15 visitors so first come first served. I will be taking names nearer the date. If anyone has an Italian in their collection it would be great to bring it along. There will be a great photo opportunity too at the front of house.

  • Two fascinating hours of history presented brilliantly by Spaulding and his colleagues. Thanks indeed to Derek for organising and to everybody else for the great company and craic as usual. Well done!

Pity about the weather but it was worth it . Thanks again to everyone that came along today.  Special thanks to Mick Masonary for bringing along the Fiat 124 it brought a huge smile to the ambassadors face 😀.  He remembered pushing his grandfathers 124 . I remember pushing my dads one regularly 😀

    • Yep I pushed my dad's one too. Particularly remember a very wet Easter Weekend in and around Galway city. We all had to get out and push multiple times over the weekend

    • I too recall pushing my dads 131s and my own 124s all over Christendom back in the day🙂. Looks like a great visit well done everyone, flying the flag.

  • I see Mick Mason beat me to it, so +1 to what Mick said and well done to Derek's work buddy Paul a member of the 'Society for Old Lucan' who put the tour together which took well over 2 hours after which we adjourned to the Deadman's for lunch

Having driven to the Spa Hotel top-down and then to Lucan House - the raised brolly's are a give away that it pissed rain for the duration of the tour and the reason for a recovery trip to the Deadman's

  • Thank you Derek that was a fabulous morning. Hugely enjoyable and very interesting.

  • Meeting point for Saturday next 22nd is Lucan Spa Hotel for breakfast  9.30/10am. Everyone is welcome to join us for breakfast.
