Hi Gent's
Am looking at taking the TR to the continet, Spain via Bilbao and down to Algarve in July.
Was just on to my broker, first ireland to check the cover.
I am covered as per normal for up to 30 days, thats not an issue - will be 29 Ferry to Ferry.... however the breakdown recovery is only for Ireland.
In Europe if you have an incident you need to call a local service or the police, have it towed and pay directly. They will refund up to €250 towards that.
Not ideal :)
So I was wondering if there is insurance like the AA that one can take for a classic on the continent, either single trip or annual OR do other classic policies come with brekadwon recovery, in which case I would consider switching.
Any thoughts or guidance much appreciated.
Roll on summer
Pete

I have Platinum AA membership a good few years now and have used it here and in U.K. On a trip to the U.K a few years ago A.A lad drove to get replacement part for my 6 and helped to get me back on road. It covers worldwide driving. But only assistance in Europe . Well worth having proper level of cover.
strange Maybe send them an email
Try chubb through Barrett insurances. They covered me on a trip last Sept across Europe.
Doing something similar.
The AA do road trip insurance, you can get a quote online. Quite reasonable and peace of mind
Thanks guys!
I'll try both
I didn't think the AA did it for vintage cars, or do you have to be a member?
It's specifically road trip cover for your chosen dates and the only question asked is, is the car over 10 years old, 188€ for 2 weeks, car brought home to your door in the event of a breakdown
like I say peace of mind
I tried to get a quote on line but it asks for a reg. I put in my ZV reg and it wouldn't accept it. Asking for a valid Irish reg!
Would be perfect if possible to take it out
