In light of the current Covid-19 crisis that we in Ireland and the rest of the world are facing and the amount of misinformation and scaremongering that's out there on the likes of social media I thought I would post this piece from a colleague of mine in Civil Defence Dr. Robert O'Connor. Robert is the head of research in The Irish Cancer Society.

Right back to rubbing down the rust patches on WYI
Nice one John - a lot of basic fact there without being pedantic, my concerns are about 'testing', how do we known if there are false positives,(people who are told they have it and turn out not to have it) or worse still false negatives (people who are told they DON'T have it and later it turns do have it) - its not so long ago we had the CervicalCheck dilemma. But on a positive note - I'm trusting my immune system which has worked so far,(over 40 years in the Lab - was exposed to Hepatitis virus and HIV and a myriad of other viruses) and definitely not associating with people from N Italy or Whuhan
But Blipper, that is how all the misinformation starts that I receive from anal al. How do I know that this isn't the same ? I'm very gullible.
