Back to the future from the 1970s a NOS head for my Fiat 124 Sport Coupe finally arrived from Malaysia🙂, 7 weeks to make the journey, by post, can you believe? I'm delighted with it, well worth the punt. The installed one has a blown head gasket and a partially stripped plug thread on #4, a common problem on those older softer aluminium heads particularly in awkward locations. Came across a guy with it in Malaysia on Facebook and he boxed and posted it for me, landed for €300, I'm feeling quite lucky today, have a great Friday😀 everyone.

What a find Niall, 😍😍 keep the box !!
Yeah I will, it even has the original grease paper, it came in a kind of wooden box too but thats rotten and smells pretty badly!
Any photo's of the car Niall ?
That's a rare find, certainly has great potential keep us informed as it progress back to being back on the road.
Oddly enough Fiat seemed to make a lot of variations on the head for those Lampredi twin cam engines, very similar but not quite the same through the 1400/1600/1800 and 2000. This one is for an 1800 so I was very fortunate there as mine's an 1800, the 2000 can be used with many of the 1800 blocks too but with some provisos and small mod. Here's a few photos of the car, its in generally very good condition and I intend to drive it for a few years as a survivor and then do a restoration/freshen up, so for this year its sort out the mechanicals (brakes, head gasket/head), a bit of wiring, exhaust, some underbody rust prevention and preservation and some body touch ups, there isn't that much in that to be fair, I've a lot of it done. Oh and I have some nice original spec period correct Cromodora wheels for it that'll smarten it up too.
well worth thr wait, may you have many happy days of motoring with it.
