All in Motor Show - Fermoy May 19th

The poster below outlines the details of the show I mentioned at the AGM. Could I get some expressions of interest in this event. We can make a proper TCOC stand as required on the day.

  • There was a show of 12 hands at the March meeting as having an interest in attending this show.

Where are you now? I need to either make progress on this as a significant TCOC event or let members participate individually. Either way I don't mind. In fairness to the Organisor, I need to let him know what way we want to play.

If you're up for it and your name is not listed below, get on the list please.

    Thanks

    Pat

  • Thanks to the 5 members listed below for expressing interest in this event.

In order to make a decision on having a decent Club presence/ stand, I'm now asking for any remaining members interested in participating. Please post your name here or text me directly on 0870972686.

In order for me to progress bus transport and overnight accommodation on the Saturday, can I ask that you indicate whether you require accommodation or not. I will revert with options for members interested.

Responses please by Easter if possible to allow time to secure any bookings

    Thanks

    Pat

  • Hi Pat

I am interested in doing the overnight. I will need to get my car ready in the meantime, nothing like an event to get a move on with the work

    Ken

  • Who's up for it? It would be great to have about 15/20 cars with our own display area!
I've spoken with the organisers and the following is the current information:

Site is very big and could accommodate up to 1,000 vehicles ( we can have whatever space we request )

    Surface is Tarmac

    Restaurant on site

We can set up on Saturday, leave cars with security and locked entrance overnight

Options for accommodation locally, (2/3 star attached to a restaurant- Corbett Court - or hotels in Mitchelstown - The Clongibbon or The Fairgrove. Niall P also has some valuable local knowledge!

I can organise local bus to do the required transport

For this to be a serious Club event, I need names and numbers so if you're available and up for it please put your name down and I'll put the "wheels" in motion locally. Expressions of interest by end next week  March 24 - indicate if you will drive Saturday and require accommodation Sat night

    Thanks

    Pat

    • Well done Pat, thanks for all that. I'm definitely interested and will help out with local transport or accommmodation in whatever way people want. Some great places to eat not too far from Fermoy and some great roads around about. I'm not entirely sure where the show is but I think it must the the grounds of the old Top Hat ballroom which would be as Pat said a very suitable venue, albeit it would have some very interesting and colourful local history for people of a certain age, ahem 🤫

  • I am interested, would it be an overnight?

    thanks

I am interested in heading to this show.

    • Its an easy enough run down, say 2 hrs 10 mins from the ball on the Naas road to Fermoy in a classic on the motorway but whatever people think. I'll probably do an overnight as its close to my home town and I'd hope to bring my da to it. If there is an interest in overnight I can help organise accommodation reasonably and I'll sort out a nice meal and a few pints on the Saturday night, let me know what the opinions are there.
