20th of May is cut of point for signing up!!
Club member Alan Egan has come up with the idea of putting on a series of basic car maintenance courses catering for club members that would like to get a bit more ‘hands on’ with their cars. The courses will be centred around the basics of changing fuel/coolant hoses, checking wheel bearings, diagnosing basic ignition/electrical faults and other basic but common faults that could be easily identified and solved with minimal tools at the side of the road or driveway....avoiding the need to call the dreaded breakdown service.
The idea is that participants will come along to the course which, will be similar to a club technical morning. Each participant will be instructed how to carry out certain repairs, or to diagnose an 'unknown' fault on their own vehicle. Alan has kindly volunteered his free time and vast expertise to instruct participating members in these procedures. Niall Power has kindly offered the use of his property for the technical session.
Regards,
Paddy.

I would LOVE to do this depending on where it is held.
Niall,Niall, Niall, steady on now you don't want us looking like a Forensic team off the telly with your Tyvek overalls, it's 50+ year old cars we'll be working on
Tyvek® is a 100% synthetic material made from high-density spunbound polyethylene fibers. Lightweight, durable and breathable, yet resistant to water, abrasion, bacterial penetration and aging, Tyvek® is an amazing material used to improve a variety of applications across multiple industries.
Also they are single use, so not very 'eco friendly' I'd prefer if you bought me a pint for the same value as one of these suits !!!!
Quite correct Bren except for slim and trim lads like yourself or really mean lads like me who dont tear them taking them off they are multiple use around here!
Bren/Luke, tell you what lads, I'll get a few sets of Tyvek overalls so we'll be able to cater for everyone😆😆.
That's a great idea. Fair play to bthe the lads involved. Count me in
