The weather does not look too bad for Saturday morning, cold but dry. I plan to go for a spin across the 4 local counties because I am allowed too….if other felt the same way and where to follow me in a socially distant, non-organized (should be easy for this club!) way, it could be fun.
I plan to arrive at the car part at the back of the Airport at 10am …..leave about 10.15am and take a spin into Meath as far as Dunboyne, cut across into Co. Kildare through Maynooth and over to Naas. Coffee stop at the new Applegreen garage beside Kerry food some time after 11. Plenty of parking for coffee (bring your own or brave the shop) & chat. Then on into Blessington Co. Wicklow, down the N81 into Brittas and then across Ballinascorney to finish in the Spa Well. Wish everyone a happy Christmas and bugger of home to taw out and watch Dublin win All Ireland again (Boring!)

Tony are you sure your middle name isn't Angus MacGyver !!!!
For those members too young to remember; Angus "Mac" MacGyver, was an undercover government agent who preferred to fight crime with ingenious feats of engineering rather than lethal force. - that's our Tony
More Mr Magoo than Mr Mc Gyver i'm afraid.
Damn and blast! Missed that one! Must read website more often. Doing emergency exhaust repairs on SE at the mo.
You betcha. Steel plate, P40, and wire.
Actually did that once, on GIX 7. Exhaust snapped in two in Mallow. Sent brother off to shop to purchase a can, he comes back with Pedigree Chum. Left Mallow pursued by every dog in town. Initial pleasant roast beef smell as exhaust heated up soon replaced by burning meat. Skipped the offer of a carvery on the way home...
Well done Luke and Bren, I did intend going on this one but got dates mixed up not to mention days mixed up. This COVID is playing havoc
Met Luke at 10;00 AM at Airport carpark, we signed the Blue'Red' Book and waite until 10:10 for more members - no show so we set off - weather glorious for TDD (top down driving) roads in North Co Dublin still a bit wet after yesterday / last night so on we went towards our first ref point Dunboyne via St Margaret's, Hollystown, Blanchardstown, and crossed the Dublin Meath border into Clonee and on to Dunboyne. While stopped at traffic lights in Dunboyne and looking up a clear blue sky, but since it was the 19th December we were well wrapped up as the temperatures were in 'single digits'. On turning left onto the R157 we soon crossed the Meath Kildare border to take us into Maynooth, a bit of traffic here but Luke knew a 'shortcut' which avoided the traffic light controlled junction and we were quickly on our way to Naas via the R406 and then R403 through Clane and after that a cross country route which avoided Saturday afternoon traffic to arrive at the new Applegreen outside Naas - we parked up and took out the 'flasks' and found a sheltered spot using Applegreen outside seating to reflect on events of the TRip and as if by 'mental telepathy' we arrived at the very same conclusion as the posts on the other tread about the New Years Eve Run, after leaving Applegreen we headed for Blessington and then left up the N81
I clocked up about 80km but did not take in Spawell on the way back and neither did Luke as he headed home left when we hit Brittas
I forgot to bring my camera so no piccie-wickies are available except this one I took when I arrived home
Allin all a good day!!!
Bren,Pornstar and Cock shouldn't be seen in the same Pic it's like you have some kind of Bragging Rights,I wonder what Olive would have to say.
I'll bring the Blue'Red' Book - might as well try and fill it up !!!!
see you at the airport carpark at 10.00 am
